Providing free e-books to the public began in 1998 with some library websites and associated services, although the e-books were primarily scholarly, technical, or professional in nature, and could not be downloaded. In 2003, libraries began offering free downloadable popular fiction and non-fiction e-books to the public, launching an e-book lending model that worked much more successfully for public libraries. Here I have given some links to free ebooks for reading as well as downloading. Books in the fields of LIS are also available here.
Please note: Some books may not be available for download and are subject to copyright and use of these for your library purposes violates the law of IPR.
